Kisses

Let's see...  what's going on around here?...

I am walking around gingerly this morning because I strained my back yesterday.  Doing what?  Kissing Tetsu!!!  My, my, sounds like a passionate kiss doesn't it!  Nope.  He was sleeping on the sofa and I bent down to give him a peck on the forehead before I headed up to bed and...  oops...  That may be the end of our goodnight routine!

For years I've just disappeared to the bedroom every night after watching TV.  Tetsu falls asleep on the sofa immediately after dinner anyway and I would sew as the TV noise kept up the conversation.  Pretty soon I'd get bored and go up to bed leaving Tetsu with the droning TV and he'd wake up sometime in the night and find me gone and then come up to bed.

At some point last year I thought it rather rude of me to just vanish without a "good night" so then I'd say "good night" before I went upstairs and Tetsu would bolt upright in a fright from the sofa.  Goodness!  I don't want to give him a heart attack!

So then I started leaning over and giving him a peck on the forehead.  This in itself put me in danger of bodily harm as Tetsu still occasionally bolted upright smacking me in the nose with his hard head.

Last night's back incident he found quite amusing and rather stupid...  Who puts out their back giving someone a kiss?  I on the other hand was rather offended.  I am risking my nose and now my back to be a loving wife!  How can you call that stupid!

Tetsu has officially told me I don't have to give him a good night kiss before bed any longer.  He doesn't want to be responsible for a slipped disk or something.

Does a blown kiss serve the purpose?

  1. Maybe a rubber stamp with a kiss logo on it might be better than a sprained back!!

  2. Yeah, I'd say blow it from a safe distance. This reminds me of our family routine in the last few years with Paul. I'd be listening to something on the TV while piecing on the sofa. Paul would come from the computer room and say ..."Are you watching this"? Even if I said "Yes", he would flip the channel to something in Japanese, turn up the volume, and sit down in his massage-chair, push the buttons and lean way back. Within minutes ... before the massage chair finished it's vibrations, he was snoring louder than the TV. That was my signal to blow the kiss and go up to bed. I have enough issues with my back without adding to them by bending over any farther than necessary.
