An illness doesn’t just affect the person ill. Other people get involved with their prayers and draw closer to God in ways they never would. An illness can be a way that more people meet God and they may even see His power, His miracles, your own faith.

Sickness takes away any misunderstanding that I might be in control. When I am sick or someone I love is sick, the only thing to do is ask God for a healing and sometimes it means asking for miracles. Sickness can always be made better through as many prayers as possible! Whatever God’s answer to the prayers, God draws closer to those who call to Him.

Self-help books are not the answer. Quick life hacks are not going to change lifelong habits. Only God can do the miraculous transforming of my mind… but more likely He will cause my mind to change in small ways as I direct my thoughts towards His ways.

I have been accused of having a lack of passion. I don’t get excited about things, I don’t want things, I’ve never been a “fan”, not of sports teams or music groups. On the other hand I don’t get upset about things either. I’ve never raged about injustices. I try to leave the good and the bad to God and learn to live with what He prepares for me.

God did not answer Jesus’ prayer as He wished even though Jesus’ faith was perfect, Jesus’ motives were pure and Jesus was completely aligned to God’s will.
Jesus came away from His prayer fully committed to following God’s purpose.

Unfortunately I take this Biblical truth for granted by NOT praying in the intensive, connecting way that God intended.

The key word is feel. Don’t feel as if…. Instead trust. Feelings change with situations, with relationships, with hormones or too little sleep. Choose the one thing to believe (Jesus) and don’t rely on feelings.

How many times have I heard that God’s timing is His own and I cannot rush Him. If God’s timing isn’t satisfactory to me, it just means I’m not aligned to Him enough.
