The last day in Matsushima

Hmmm...  I missed the last day that we were in Matsushima.

As our schedule was free we decided to take an hour ferry trip around the Matsushima Bay which was nice but tame.  A taped recording of the names of the islands that we were passing but after awhile one island began to look like every other.

 And for all that I don't remember any of the names.  And I was taking pictures through a sea splased window...  Here we have an island with four tunnels going through it...

An island that was damaged by the 2011 earthquake and tsunami.  Though Matsushima reported some damage from the tsunami, and there was a photo gallery in the tourist center showing the town half emerged in sea water, four years later we saw almost no evidence of that 2011 disaster.  Except this island.

One more interestingly shaped island before sailing back into the Matsushima port.  From there we drove another four hours home...  TIRED!  And it was good to be back to all the animals (cared for by various neighbors while we were gone.  Choco had a home stay experience!)

And now life is back to normal.
